According to a report, the spokesman of the Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), Kem Daniel-Elebiga said that 14 people were killed in the stampede.

According to The Cable, the incident took place on
Tuesday, February 12, 2019, when supporters trying to leave the venue after President Buhari left, were trampled upon.

Vanguard reports that the spokesman of the Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), Kem Daniel-Elebiga said that 14 people were killed in the stampede.

Daniel-Elebiga also revealed that those wounded are being taken care of.

“I can confirm 14 persons dead as I speak. Initially, it was six, but the figures can change as they bring them and are being examined. There are others under medical attention at the Emergency Unit, so we can’t force a clear figure beyond what the situation is at the moment,” he added.

The reports also states that the spokesman of the Rivers state Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident.
